This site is a community-run hub for people connecting through burner culture across DC, Maryland, and Virginia.
It brings together information about local communities, conversations, and ways people are already gathering and creating.
Current website Admin is Nexus. Web Experience Lead is Marzy.
A web of local communities
The DC burners “community” is not a single group or organization.
It’s a web of local communities, relationships, and spaces that overlap, evolve, and take shape in different ways.
Some are based on geography, others on shared interests, identities, or creative work.
This site reflects that network, not a monolith.
How this site works
This site is maintained by community members as a shared resource.
It gathers:
- local communities
- special interest groups
- conversation spaces
- resources and information
There’s no single authority behind it, and no one place where everything happens.
Relationship to other organizations
The DC burners community exists across many spaces and platforms, some community-led, some organized by different groups.
This site focuses on the broader community, while other efforts, including nonprofit organizations, may focus on specific programs, events, or initiatives.
This site is not affiliated with or supported by the DC Burners nonprofit started in the summer of 2025. You can learn more about their work here: dcburners.org.
Some parts of the broader Burning Man network are also present locally, including Regional Contacts (RCs), who serve as points of connection between local communities and the wider Burning Man organization.
Learn more about the DC Regional Contacts
Like other parts of the ecosystem, this site is not affiliated with or operated by Regional Contacts, and reflects the broader DC burners community rather than any single role or group.

This is a starting point, not a complete map.
The intersection of local and regional communities continues to grow and change through the people who show up and participate in it.
